When I first started college in 2022, I was not studying Digital Design. I originally chose Architecture because I wanted to study something that involved designing and creating things. At the time, I felt like there were not many good options for a major that involved art, creativity, and the type of work I actually enjoyed. I thought Architecture might be a good direction for me, so I decided to try it.

However, as I continued studying Architecture, I realized that it was not the right fit for me. The work was often difficult and confusing, and I started feeling stuck. I felt like I was forcing myself to continue with something that I did not really enjoy. I wanted to do something where I could feel more free to be creative and express my own style.

By around the end of 2024, I finally reached a point where I realized that I could not keep doing something that made me feel so lost. I decided that I needed to listen to myself and find something that felt more like me. That is when I changed my major to Digital Design.

Digital Design felt different because it allowed me to combine something I have always loved, which is art, with technology and creativity. I like that there are so many different areas I can explore, including graphic design, typography, animation, motion design, and interactive design. Instead of feeling like I have to fit into one specific type of work, I can explore different creative skills and discover what I enjoy.

Changing my major was an important decision for me. It helped me feel like I was finally finding my own voice again after feeling lost for a long time. I know I am still learning and have a lot of skills to develop, but I am excited about the direction I am going now. I want to continue learning, challenging myself, and creating work that feels like my own while working toward my bachelor’s degree in Digital Design.
